FAMILY ON RED ALERT - For Fear of Ball Injury

The alarm has been raised by at least one family that goes into fear and panic mode whenever there is a ball game at the Hillsborough Recreation Ground, especially when the game is cricket.

Mr and Mrs Willie Simon who reside on the opposite side of the field on Paterson Street say that their numerous requests for better protection of the property have consistently fallen on deaf ears. 

 Both are ardent supporters of sport and love to see young people utilize their energies in a meaningful way such as in sporting activities.

SLOW START BUT PARANG COMING

Organizers of the annual Parang String Band Festival are now busily putting structures in place for the hosting of this year’s 40th anniversary of the celebration.

By this time in previous years, the festival would have been quite advanced with bands already aware of what is expected of them and members of the public given an insight into what is in store for them.

Maturine Stewart Rubbishes Andrew’s Crown Land Claim

The New National Party caretaker for this constituency, Kindra Mathurine-Stewart has denied claims that she is down to receive a parcel of land from the current administration describing the statement as malicious and one which represents how a drowning man would cling onto a piece of straw for his political survival. 

Mrs Mathurine-Stewart was referring to the National Democratic Congress’ caretaker for this constituency, Tevin Andrew, who at a recent press conference, pointed to several persons including Mrs Mathurine-Stewart who he said are listed in a 2017 document to benefit from crown lands.
