ACCIDENT IN BELVEDERE INJURES ONE CHILD

A loud bang early last week Saturday morning, startled residents of the small and quiet community of Belvedere, when a Toyota double cab van and Jeep collided.

The impact led to a child that was in the Toyota, which bore the registration number, PM 553 and was driven by Joshua Charles, sustaining a blow to the head, taken to the hospital, treated and discharged. The other vehicle, bearing registration number PAK 723 was driven by Paul “Bully” Sylvester.

Over $12,000.00 Raised At Ccef Event

The Carriacou Children Education Fund (CCEF) may well have achieved its goal of raising a record amount of funds at the 2017 annual fund raising exercise, which was held on Thursday prior to the Regatta Festival.

Main organizers of the event, Mr and Mrs Herman Brink, say that they may have raised over EC$12,000.00 thus surpassing the EC$11,586.87, which was accumulated at the 2016 event.

Vouchers For Better Education Handed Out

Several needy families across the sister isle of Carriacou and Petite Martinique can now ensure that their children are properly attired when the new school year commences in September.

Last week, Minister for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs, Hon Elvin Nimrod together with Permanent Secretary in that ministry, Javan Williams presented several vouchers to needy families.
