Progress Park To Upgrade

A special Committee will soon be formed to consider the upgrading of Progress Park in St. Andrew. 

This was announced by Minister of Sports – Hon. Emmalin Pierre during remarks at the official opening ceremony for Inter-Col 2015 at Progress Park last week Wednesday. The Hon. Minister made the announcement within the context of Progress Park’s hosting the Games for the very first time it was held outside of St. George’s. The impression created then was that Inter-Col could be held there again.

GRENADA CARIFTA 2015 TEAM

Grenada’s 2015 CARIFTA team has departed Grenada to represent their country in this year’s Regional matches.

The Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Religious Affairs, the Grenada Athletics Association (GAA) and the Grenada Amateur Swimming Association (GASA) had held a joint press conference in relation to Grenada’s participation in the Championship.

Results No Surprise

There were no big surprises in terms of results for Inter-Col 2015. 

The Grenada Boys’ Secondary School (GBSS) power-house athletes were widely expected to defend their title and they did so in the most convincing fashion. Weeks before the great day their coach said, “The other schools go to compete but we go to win.” The writing was on the wall from last year and it was difficult to see any other school dethroning them. Yet, they didn’t have to be so brutal; 440 points, leading the second-placed St. Andrew’s Anglican Secondary School (SAASS) by nearly 150, who in turn led the third-placed Bishop’s College (BC) by a wider margin of over 175 points.
