Three labour organizations are uniting in their appeal to the government to ensure pension payment to persons who become eligible.

The technical and Allied Workers Union, TAWU, the Public Workers Union PWU and the Trades Union Council TUC marched on the Ministerial Complex inTanteen onFriday April 21, demanding that pensions be respected.

Pan Wizards Wins Bomb Tune Competition

Suzuki/Food Fair Pan Wizards beat off six competitors to snatch the bomb tune title in last Sunday’s competition at the Tanteen Playing Field, as the Grenada Steel Band Association collaborated with Spice Mas Corporation, to conduct the first carnival event after the launch of Spice mas 2017 the previous evening.

The bomb tune competition is conducted in two sections; each band must play a song of its choice other than a calypsoin addition to the standard song for the competition, which each must play.

Real Value Supports Tivoli Drummers

A financial donation from Real Value IGA Supermarket was presented by the Marketing ManagerMs Cheryl Rennie, who confirmed that the cheque was to go towards the building of the cultural center.

Motorist asking whether Charles Gas Station is Temporarily or Permanently closed?

Motorists driving into the Charles Gas Station in Grenville about two weeks ago were told by the only gas pump attendant there, that there was no fuel at the pumps and therefore they would have to seek service elsewhere.

This forced motorists to leave that fuel outlet and head for the other one in Grenville; the Grenville Gas Station where since then, there has been a buildup of traffic as vehicles queue to make their purchases, leading to some traffic disturbance on the streets accessing the fuel outlet especially on evenings.

“Incompetence And Sabotage Fear At Elections Office” Cries Andrew

The National Democratic Congress caretaker for Carriacou and Petite Martinique is contending that the current head of the local elections office, is currently incompetent of performing the role in such a sensitive position and is suggesting that if she is not quickly trained then there could be major problems when the electorate of the sister isles, as part of the country are called to the national polls.
