Boots on The Ground For Caretakers Likeability

Boots are on the ground to determine who is the most likely choice to take over the Carriacou and Petite Martinique reigns of the New National Party (NNP) from the outgoing caretaker of the constituency, Elvin Nimrod. 

From last week Saturday, a four-member Regional team have been meeting supporters of the party, polling them on the best person suited to fill the vacancy, which has been created by Nimrod’s decision to lower the curtains on his Political career.

According to Mr Williams, he started selling his craft by walking up and down the Grand Anse beach selling to tourists.

New Recreational Facility For Anglican High School

Students attached to the Anglican High School will soon have a recreation facility of their own, this with the commencement of work in upgrading an area within the school’s compound for that purpose. A sod turning ceremony was held on Thursday last. 

 The first phase of a much larger project initiated by some past students got off to a start on Monday. It will include a sport and recreational flat rehabilitation project, that is being supported by Grenlec and Republic Bank powers to make a difference programme.

Steill Picks Up Influential Business Support

As the race continues to gain rapid momentum to find a suitable choice to succeed Member of Parliament, Hon Elvin Nimrod, Simon Stiell has been getting the backing from a key sector of the Business sector.

At least three top businessmen have openly declared their support for Stiell and have committed to backing him all the way.

The men say that of the three candidates in the race to fill the void left vacant by Nimrod, Stiell has the most experience in Government and will be able to make good Regional and International contacts that the other two would not be able to do.

US Gov’t Evaluating Sites For Project Construction

The United States Government officials at the Embassy in Barbados are closely scrutinising three possible sites for the proposed construction of an Emergency operation centre and disaster relief warehouse on the island.

The team of engineers from the Bridgetown Embassy liaison office under the United States Southern Command, which is Governed by the department of defence with responsibility for humanitarian programs, is with the civil-military affairs division.

National Netball Champions Snubbed

The Carriacou and Petite Martinique Netballers are the Champions of the National Junior Competition but unfortunately, they have nothing to show for their sacrifice, hard work and brilliant display on the court over the many weekends of travelling to the tournament.

The team of young girls from across the island was the pride of the tournament and was eventually crowned 2017 to 2018 winners.
