Police are currently investigating the discovery of the body of a female underneath a bridge in concord St. John. Residents of the area discovered body last week Thursday morning. Members of the Royal Grenada Police Force later fished the body out of the river.
The cause of death was confirmed, as asphyxia by drowning but police have not determined whether it was suicide or some other party was involved.
The Grenada Informer spoke to the niece of the deceased who identified her as thirty-one-year-old Jessica Lewis of Marigot St. John.
Neighbors described the deceased as someone who struggled with mental challenges and had repeatedly threatened to end her own life including the day before her body was found.
