Grenada Claims A Boxing Medal At Youth Commonwealth Games

After an absence, of some two decades, Grenada, made history by capturing a bronze medal through light-welterweight boxer Rufus Vesprey of Carriacou, at the recently concluded, Youth Commonwealth Games in The Bahamas.

Vesprey began his gold medal quest by defeating Rodriguez Frederick of Dominica to advance to the next round. The referee was forced to stop the contest early in the second round after Frederick got three standing 8 counts.

4 Grenadian U15 cricketers off to Windward Islands duties

Four Grenadian cricketers selected earlier this year as members of the Windward Islands Under-Fifteen team, left the state on Wednesday for Barbados to join the rest of their teammates in a one-week training camp, ahead of the West Indies Under-Fifteen tournament due to commence on July 24th.

 The four, opening batsman Teddy Bishop, off-spinner Kervyn Gangadeen, and medium pacers Jamil Rocastle and Tiron Charles were selected at the conclusion of the Windward Islands Under-Fifteen Tournament held in Grenada in April of this year.
