Hurricanes Vs. Eagles Super Strikers On Saturday

  • Written by  The Grenada Informer

Following on the heels of their 2-nil victory over Chantimelle at the Fond Playing Field last weekend, front runners in the Grenada Football Association (GFA) Premier League Division Hurricanes would be looking to extend their lead at the top of the table when they take on sixth place Eagles Super Strikers at the Cuthbert Peters Park tomorrow (Saturday).

The St Mark based outfit (Hurricanes) presently on 22 points, enjoys a narrow three-point lead over second placed Hard Rock after playing eight rounds of matches. A win tomorrow would take them to 25 points.

Hard Rock on the other hand presently sits on 19 points after seven rounds of matches. Both teams to-date have played unbeaten with one drawn game.

Meanwhile, sixth place Eagles Super Strikers has a total of 10 points after nine rounds of matches, the same number of points as Paradise International, which, however, has played eight rounds of matches. It, therefore, means that a win for Eagles could see them moving up the ladder to occupy the fifth spot on the table.

Meanwhile results of matches played last weekend; Eagles Super Strikers got the better of Sabb Sports Club 2 goals to nil, GBSS went down to Queens Park Rangers FC 1969, 4 goals to 2, Paradise FC International defeated Mt Rich Sports Club 4 -1, Shamrock lost to St Johns Sports 4-2, QPR defeated Chantimelle 2-1, Hurricanes defeated Chantimelle 3 -1, Mt Rich defeated GBSS 4-2, Hard Rock defeated Paradise FC 2-1 and TAMCC and Eagles played to a 1-1 draw.

Matches scheduled for this weekend; on Saturday Hurricanes vs. Eagles from 7 pm Cuthbert Peters Park in Gouyave, also on Saturday Mt Rich takes on St John’s Sports at Fond in St Patrick from 7 pm.

Matches scheduled for Sunday, September 10th, QPR takes on Paradise FC at Queens Park from 4 pm, and Hard Rock and Chamtimelle do battle at Fond from 6 pm, Sabb Sports Club takes on TAMCC FC at Victoria Park from 6 pm.

On Wednesday 13th September Paradise FC takes on TAMCC FC at Progress Park from 4:30.
